Best souvenirs from Aruba

Whether you are planning your annual trip to Aruba, or if you are going for the first time, be sure to leave some space on your suitcase to bring some souvenirs for your friends, family members, and why not, yourself?

Shopping in Aruba is definitely one of the highlights of the island, as this Caribbean hotspot is filled with sunny flea markets, very unique streets where you can buy things and modern malls that will surely have a shop – or two- that will get your attention for a couple of minutes at least…or even hours! Hey, I don’t judge!

So if you are definitely going to this beautiful southern Caribbean island then make sure you read this article as I will be filling you in with all the necessary information you need to know before heading towards that side of the world.

And if you don’t like shopping, then I will list a couple of items for you to go straight to the point and get them, without having to think too much about what you can get your mother-in-law as a souvenir…don’t worry, I won’t say anything!

The best souvenirs from Aruba

Aruba is often referred to as ‘’One happy island’’ and indeed, this is a very happy place. As soon as you disembark in this Caribbean hotspot you will feel happy all of the sudden. You will also notice all of the Aruban license plates everywhere you go.

Why? Well, this island is one of the few places on earth – if not the only place – that requires the vehicle-owners to replace their license plates every single year. So last year’s places are sometimes saved up and they form a collection, sometimes people sell them to tourists.

This is a very unique gift if you ask me, and the best thing about it? You don’t even need a car to put your plate on it, as you can also use it as a decoration in a house or workspace.

Aloe products in Aruba

Aruba is also known for its aloe products, mainly because this island saw the beginnings of the oldest aloe company in the world, something they are very proud to announce every chance they get.

It was founded in 1890, and their products range from skin products to sun care products, to even tanning products. It is all made with natural ingredients, including, of course, aloe vera.

You can even go on a tour of the Aloe Museum in Hato, and in there you will learn everything you need to know about the Aloe plant and its life in a place like Aruba.

Ceramics in Aruba

If you are looking into getting fine ceramics and porcelain at a cheaper price, then look no further, Aruba has it for you. Did you know that many people travel to this island only to get those pieces?

Forget about the sun, the sandy beaches, and the famous cocktails that this island has to offer, and instead focus on getting your fine porcelain piece from Spain, The Netherlands, England, or even Germany. (I’m actually joking, don’t forget about any of  those things, but do get some porcelain from this island!)

Chocolates in Aruba

Who said chocolates? Or even better, who said gourmet chocolates? It turns out, Aruba is also known for selling Gourmet Dutch chocolates at a cheaper price. I’m not sure your box will make it back home for you to give it away, however, you can always try to take it back!

The Dutch have a long history in the chocolate-making world, and they are renowned for its excellence in terms of flavour, texture and even smell. You don’t have to be a chocolate expert to know that the chocolates you will get in Aruba will definitely brighten up your day…I mean, your friends’ day.

Dutch cheese in Aruba

I’m sure that if you have heard about the chocolates in Aruba then you must have heard about the Dutch cheeses in there as well, as they are another gourmet offering that you will be able to purchase once you are in this Caribbean island.

If you are thinking about getting a Gouda cheese then look no further, Aruba has it. If you are thinking about a Limburger then buy it in Aruba, or even an Edam cheese, this island definitely has too many options for you to choose from.

And the best part of this? It’s the price!

Put a ring on it…Aruba’s style!

Who doesn’t love a piece of jewelry? Especially when someone asks you, ‘’where did you get that from?’’ And you are able to say ‘’I got it in Aruba’’…

Also, since Aruba has a low sales tax, then it means that you can buy expensive high-end jewelry for almost half of the price in comparison to the same piece of jewerly that you are able to find back home.

It’s a win-win situation if you ask me!

I love Aruba Tshirts

Or any other type of t-shirts to be honest. Although I love Aruba t-shirts are definitely the most popular option on the island.

Every souvenir store will even offer you their own version of this classic tee, so make sure you keep an eye for funky and interesting t-shirt designs. Some will have the national bird as a stamp, others will show you the island’s famous donkeys or flamingos!

Save the environment, buy a reusable bag.

And what a better and more fashionable way of doing this than getting an Aruba reusable bag?

This bag will definitely get the attention of onlookers whenever you go to your local shop or supermarket. This is also a fun and useful souvenir that you can get to so many of your friends or family members.

The best part of this gift? It doesn’t matter whether you are getting it for a boy or a girl or a male or female, this bag can be used by everybody! Saving the environment is a genuine thing, so this souvenir is truly special.

The reusable bags that are sold in Aruba are washable and made from recycled plastic bottles that were found on the island. They usually boast some colorful designs with the words Aruba, Bonbini and One Happy Island.

 And lastly…

Aruba is a paradise on earth. If you are looking for a lovely beach, then Aruba has it. If you are looking for amazing weather, then Aruba has it. If you are looking for incredibly and tasty food, then Aruba has it.

And if you are looking for things to buy, and souvenirs to get, then Aruba definitely has them. In this Caribbean island, you will find bargains that you will not be able to resist. So you have been warned, and don’t blame me if you need to pay a little extra for your equipment!

If you are looking for a unique souvenir to get back home from Aruba, then you will definitely find something to get on the island. Just make sure you ask for the price before you start taking everything home.

Sometimes the final price will be placed on the item, some other times you will get a discounted rate when you are about to pay. So go ahead, and buy those two t-shirts and three bags, and don’t worry, I won’t say anything!
